Both of my daughters, my son, and I receive subscription boxes each month. I video tape the unveiling of those subscription boxes and then upload those onto my blog. From there I review what we received in that month's subscription box.
Goodies.co is a subscription box that is sent to you each month for only $7. Their website is https://www.goodies.co. My first box will be here in July, and since I signed up at the beginning of June (missed the deadline for the June box.) I was eager to try some of their items. I went to the shop part of the store, and you can purchase items from past boxes. I scanned over all of the items and decided upon three items. They are listed below.
These were really good. At only $4.47 for the three of them, I didn't seem to think that this was a bad deal. Each bag has about 1.7oz, which to me seemed to be big enough for a snack. My two daughters and I each ate a bag; although, my bag of popcorn was shared with my 11 month old. All four of us really enjoyed the Cinnamon Sugar flavored popcorn. The only downside of this, is that I found it at my local store for only $1 a bag. So, I have since bought these again at my local store since they are cheaper there.
These just looked good, so I decided to purchase these. For the 4 packs, it is $9.16 and each pack is 1.5oz. A little expensive yes. But I haven't been able to located anything close to this flavor of Almonds. My daughters and I each had one (we have one left in our cupboard that I am now thinking of going to eat. lol) Both my daughters and I enjoyed these.
The bag is 4oz and is $3.99 each. There really is a lot in this bag. I am the type of person who likes my brownies gooey, so although this sounded great, I wasn't so sure. I really just ordered it for my daughters, but this ended up being my favorite item out of the three that I ordered. I have given my 11 month old son bits and pieces of this as well, and he has enjoyed them thus far. I will be ordering this item again, I just wish that this was located at my local store too.
Received my first Bluum Box while I was on vacation. I couldn't wait to get home to see what was in it. I was impressed with what it had in it and I will be keeping my subscription to it. Bluum cost $25/ month, and as of right now you need to be invited, or request an invite. Lucky for you, I am inviting you... http://bluum.me/15veSZg Just go there and you should receive an e-mail for a membership.
MY REVIEW
Earth Friendly - Baby Ecos
I received a 4oz bottle of this. I haven't used it yet, as I just did my son's laundry before opening up the box. It doesn't have a smell, which his probably a good thing for babies or little kids. The directions say to use 1 oz for HE washing machines and 2oz for regular washing machines You can use a drop or so to help rub out some stains and can be used in any temperature of water.
Book - Brain rules for baby
So I wouldn't have ever bought this book if I found it in the store. I was the one who bought the 'What to Expect' series. It doesn't seem like a bad book. The front cover says "How to Raise a Smart and Happy Child from Zero to Five." I have two children in that age range. My son who will be 1 next week and then I have a daughter who is 3 1/2. I have yet to read it; however, I did skim through the introduction. I will probably read this, but with three kids and it being summer I don't have a lot of free time unless it's nap time.
Ella's Kitchen - Nibbly Fingers-Apple/Strawberry
I have never heard of Ella's Kitchen, so this was a first for me. My son is at the age where he likes to do finger foods. So this was perfect for him. He wasn't so sure of it at first since I have yet to give him anything resembling a granola bar. After a few bites, he enjoyed it and wanted another one. I will probably be looking for these or other toddler granola bars in the future. **UPDATE** 8/3/13 He loves these and goes crazy for them when he sees them in the cupboard... I can't buy these locally, but thankfully I can at Target when I head up to see my husband in Wyoming...
Child's Play - Ants Go Marching Cd
I played this for my son, he didn't seem to dislike it but didn't seem to enjoy it either. I'll still play it for him and see if his opinion of it changes. My daughters did listen to it as well and enjoyed it. I am babysitting my friends two sons today and they enjoyed it as well. I wonder if because they are all older (6 and 3) they liked it better because they understand music a little bit more. I'm not sure. I guess I'll find that out as I play it more for my son.
Little Learners - Peek-A-Boo Friends
My son's birthday is next week, so he will be receiving this for a present; however, he really enjoys books, so I don't see why he wouldn't love this book as well. **UPDATE** 8/3/13 He will bring me a few books for me to read him, and this is one of those books. He seems to enjoy it, and my step-daughter has read it all by herself too.
Banz - Banz Kidz - Blue
This will also be one of his birthday presents. This is sunglasses with the straps that Velcro on to help keep them on your child. My son doesn't keep his sunglasses on that long but they are the regular type that you or I would wear, but child size. So maybe with the help of the Velcro he will keep them on longer. I will update you guys in a couple weeks to let you know how it went. **UPDATE** 8/3/13 I've tried to put these on him a few times... They don't stay on. He takes these off just the same as other glasses.
Funktion - Grab Bag
I like the idea of this. It is waterproof and has an anti-bacterial lining so you can put your wet clothes or swimsuits in it. I am using this right now as a holder for the littler items for my son's birthday party. After his party I will be placing this in my diaper bag. Right now I use those little plastic sacs that they sell in the baby isles to put wet clothes in. After next week this will be what I use. It is big enough that I can place all 3 of my kids wet clothes in it and probably still have room for some more. **UPDATE** 8/3/13 I used this bag on my last vacation. I placed my husband's swim trunks, my 2 piece swim suit and swim shorts, both of my daughter's two piece swims suits, and my son's swim trunks in the bag along with my pj shorts (I don't know how they ended up in there but noticed them when I went to put the items in the laundry)... I was able to close it and probably had room for a couple more items too!!!
So, this is the first time that I have done a review on my computer (Others have been via my smart phone) I think I will continue to do it via the computer. It is a little handier and I can write more on my reviews for you guys.
I am posting this a little late because I have been busy helping my sister in law move and then we went on a vacation. Here is my YouTube video of when I opened up my box.
If you would like to check out Citrus Lane and subscribe yourself check out my referral link HERE. I do receive credit for your purchase. THANK YOU!!!
I am planning on giving my son the hat and water toy for his birthday so I don't have a review for those yet.*UPDATE* 7/18/13 The Hat retails for $15 at iplaybabywear.com and the water toy for $10.92 at habausa.com He actually keeps the hat on, which surprises me. We haven't played with the toy in the tub yet, I keep forgetting it. He loves to play with a cup I have in there, so I'm sure this'll be used a lot too. Have played with the water toy outside of the water. He enjoys the rings on the handle.
My son absolutely loved the 'Happy Munchies' rice cakes. They were blueberry and beat. I gave him those as a snack while we were on our vacation. They came in very handy!! *UPDATE* 7/18/13 I went to following website which it states on the information packet happyfamilybrands.com and you can't order any from them. They do have a link to the closest place where they sell them which would be my local Wal-Mart, but I don't recall ever seeing these there. I did go to the following site diapers.com/ and found them for $3.59/bag.
I have yet to use the sunscreen although I probably should have as I got burnt a couple days before our vacation started but thankfully the kids didn't. *UPDATE* 7/18/13 This retails for $15.00 for 2.7oz. at episencial.com.
*UPDATE* 7/18/13 The total for the above items is $44.51... So I think I got my $25 worth!!!
I did add on an item for this months box. I'm not sure if that is an option each month or what, I guess I will find out next month. :-) The item I added on was playful Wash. It is a shampoo and body cleanser that smells like tangerines because of the tangerine oil in it. I used it on my son while on vacation. He seemed to like it and it did not bother him at all. *UPDATE* 7/18/13 This retails for $9.00 for 8oz at episencial.com/
*UPDATE* 7/18/13 I went to the website for the sunscreen and playful wash, to see what they retailed for and I saw that you can get a 5pk sample for only $5.00... They say for free, but if you have to pay (I'm assuming it's for the shipping and handling... maybe tax. who knows) it really isn't free. You get 5 of their best selling products... Trial size of course. but doesn't sound like to bad of an idea!!
**UPDATE** 8/3/13 I did purchase their trial pack... Please check out my other post HERE to see the free samples that I received which include the trial pack from Episencial.
So...I was wondering how to do the whole video uploading and wanted to give it a try. I haven't received anything in the mail yet, and I can't wait. I wish it were the end of the month already.
Anyways. I did my personal review of some of those squeezable baby food pouches. So, we'll see how it works.
Here is what I reviewed. I would defienently recomend these. My 11 month old (or will be on Thursday) loves these. I like the reusable ones so i can put whatever in theme and he can still learn how to feed himself.
Here is my YouTube video. Hope it works. I can only improve on how i upload and post from here... right?!?!
I have recently signed up for some free samples to be sent to me as well as a couple subscription boxes. I haven't received anything yet; however, they should be arriving on my doorstep at the end of the month. I plan to post my reviews of those samples and boxes on here. I have never had a blog nor posted a video (which I plan to do as well) of my review of a product on the internet. I have told family, friends, and co-workers about different products as well as the occasional person in the store debating between two products. So..... why not just post it on the internet. I am No longer working full time (working PRN which results in a few days a month) and I do have my A.A. in Journalism, so this is right up my ally. :-) Until next time... ~Cristina aka Stay at home mom of 3
